Top tips for APAC 2017

We’re a third into March 2017, which means there’s only six weeks left to go before our tenth APAC! Having experienced numerous years of APACs over the decade, we went around the CASE Asia-Pacific office and compiled the top tips to prepare you, our delegates, for the upcoming APAC.

Tarn Lee, our General Manager, is the longest-staying staff on the current Asia-Pacific team! She has some words of advice, “For colleagues new to the profession, do go through the program content and chart your course of learning! Make friends and expand your network!”

If you are our CASE member, you would have most probably spoken to Susan, our Senior Manager, Membership Services. Here’s what she has to say, “Bring lots of business cards and talk to as many people as possible, regardless of whether they are from schools, universities or nonprofit organizations, or even the consultants. Seize the chance to expand their network.”

Looks like networking is huge in APAC! Fret not, for you’ll have plenty of chances to do so in our various networking activities.

Whether you’re coming to Singapore for the first time, or you’ve been to our tropical island multiple times, there’s always something new to explore!

If you love nature, don’t miss out on Gardens by the Bay, as recommended by Cheryl Torrado, our Head of Advancement Programs and the newest on the team. Immerse yourself in the beautiful experience of music and lights with its Garden Rhapsody.

Beng Hwee, our Executive Director, suggests embracing the multi-cultural diversity in Singapore, “Try our local dishes from different ethnic cultures! Buy a sari from Little India, try on the Peranakan kebaya, and snap a few shots together with your fellow delegates.”

After a long conference day, May, our Advancement Programs Manager, recommends a stop by the Bar & Billiard Room at Raffles Hotel for a glass of Singapore Sling! (She emphasized that it’s a must visit, so you know what to do!)

You can also take a stroll along the iconic Singapore River at Clarke Quay at night, or go bar-hopping, as suggested by Cheryl Woong, our Marketing & Communications Manager.

If you’re on for some excitement and adrenaline, head to Sentosa and be enthralled by the award winning outdoor night show, Wings of Time, as recommended by Fione, our Head of Business Development. You’re sure to be in awe of the spectacular display of water, fire, laser and music!

Make full use of your trip to Singapore and extend your stay to visit the highly-raved about Night Safari, where the animals roam close to you! We promise you won’t regret it.

We hope these tips have excited you for APAC 2017! See you soon!
